Jamie Riddell - "Jamos"

He was accepted into the Royal Australian Air Force in 1990 and completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the Australian Defence Force Academy before proceeding to flight training in 1993.

On graduation Jamie flew C-130 Hercules aircraft at RAAF Richmond. He participated in tactical airlift operations in Somalia, Cambodia, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.

His military career highlight was providing combat aeromedical evacuations in support to US and Australian troops during the second Iraq war.

Jamie now works as an Instructor Pilot teaching Air force pilots to fly the Boeing E-7A Wedgetail aircraft at RAAF Williamtown and is also a commercial helicopter pilot (and hence a real man like Bill Lang).

Since first soloing in 1974, Bill now has over 18,000 flight hours. A graduate of the RAAF Academy with a Bachelor of Science, Bill's time in the military included flying the mighty Huey helicopter (real men fly rotary), Macchi jets and Hercules transports.

As a RAAF flying instructor Bill trained new Air Force and army cadet pilots in the CT-4 trainer. This included aerobatics and formation. He then instructed on the C130 Hercules.

Since joining the airline industry Bill has continued flying with the RAAF Reserve and has instructed on the B767 in his “day job”.

Bill is now happily retired but enjoys nothing more than hanging upside down in a Yak-52.

Apart from warbird flying - Rob has a few vintage Fords in his garage. He likes his aircraft and his cars old and simple.
